How To Properly Clean Out Your Bulk Bins

If you use bulk bins to store anything for your business, you will need to occasionally clean them out properly so they do not become disgusting, as that could harm the products or produce that you are storing in there. There are some key steps that need to be taken for the proper cleaning of such large bins.

Use Enough Pressure

You will want to first take your bulk bin outside, and turn it over so you can still wash the inside of it but so the water will also easily pour out of the bin. Make sure that you are using a quality pressure washer to wash out all of the dirt and debris. This is important because a small garden hose will simply not have enough power within it to blast away the hard, stuck-on dirt. Along with using regular warm water, you might want to add a sanitizer to the mix in order to ensure that all of the interior will be completely sanitary.

Allow Them To Air Dry

It is vital that you are allowing your bulk bins to dry outside in the sun. This will ensure that the bin is thoroughly dried without having to worry about the accidental spread of contaminants. You could dry them with a soft cloth if you are in a hurry. However, you will need to make sure that you are using a perfectly clean cloth that has not had any contaminants on it. It is also advisable to make sure that the cloth is not the kind that is going to leave a lot of lint or cloth fibers behind, as those can get mixed up with the products that you are filling the bins back up with.

Use A Liner

Even though you are going to be taking every precaution to keep the interior of your bulk bins perfectly clean, you will still want to add a liner before you start filling it up with product. This is just that one extra precaution that will show your customers or clients that you take safety and cleanliness seriously. Just make sure that you are purchasing plenty of liners to have on hand so you can replace them as needed.

With those few tips in mind, you should find that it is going to be a lot easier for you, or your employees, to keep the bulk bins nice and clean.
